How can we help you?
If you are being investigated or prosecuted by the MHRA for an alleged breach of the regulations relating to medicines or medical devices, Old Bailey Solicitors can help. We have vast experience representing clients during interviews under caution and at court. Old Bailey Solicitors can also advise and represent you at MHRA or GhPC Fitness to Practice and Impairment hearings.
Who are our clients?
Our regulatory team acts for Independent Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacy Technicians, Superintendents and those who supply regulated (prescription) medicines such as Viagra, Viagra products, Steroids, slimming drugs etc on the internet without a certificate.
Old Bailey Solicitors also accept instructions on behalf of commercial firms to advise and represent their clients at MHRA interviews under caution where their own lawyers lack the requisite experience.
What do I do if I am facing an MHRA investigation or prosecution?
You may have already had your home or business premises searched by MHRA officers and have been asked to attend an interview under caution. We recommend that you contact us to arrange a free initial consultation to discuss your options as soon as possible.
The Medicines Act 1968 covers a broad range of offences including the sale and distribution of unlicensed medicines or the sale of licensed products by unauthorised vendors. Those convicted can face up to 2 years in prison and/or a heavy fine.
What are my options?
Not all breaches of the regulations result in a prosecution. We are experienced criminal defence lawyers and we always aim to open a constructive dialogue with MHRA investigating officers from the start of your case in order to persuade them away from a prosecution and towards a fitness to practise hearing where possible. Old Bailey Solicitors can represent you at all stages, through the fact finding, impairment and sanctions processes.
If you are facing investigation or prosecution by the MHRA or GhPC, contact Karen Brookes for an initial telephone consultation to discuss your options.
