Brian Aldred secures against the odds acquittal

Brian Aldred, senior advocate with Old Bailey Solicitors, secures against-the-odds acquittal of client charged with drug dealing and possessing criminal property

The client was found by police in a hotel room. Also in the room was a large quantity of class A drugs and cash but the client denied any knowledge of them, claiming that he had been asleep and did not know how the drugs and cash got there. He already had a conviction for dealing class A drugs for which he had served a lengthy custodial sentence.  Nonetheless, the jury were ultimately persuaded that they could not be sure that the defendant’s account was not true and found him not guilty on all counts.
